TikTok trends in August 2024. Here is the updated list!

Being early with adopting trends on TikTok can help your account grow - but it's not always easy to keep up. And who has the time for that? No worries, we'll keep track of the trends for you. Here's the list of all TikTok trends in August 2024. The list is updated frequently.

1. "Very demure, very mindful" trend

The creator says "Do you see how I do my makeup for work? Very demure. Very mindful." but you can sense a tone of irony. This has gained wide spread and many users have created their own versions of this video where they connect the sound to something that is claimed to be simple but maybe isn't really.

2. "This is the police" trend for outfits

A trend that starts with an intro with the text "This trend but ..." and ends with perhaps "... my style is old school" and then a person who seems to prepare for something while the song "This is the police" plays. After a few seconds, the person starts walking to the song and cuts between different outfits while the song goes "emergency, emergency". To join the trend, come up with your own twist to show something that may be unique to you.

3. "Forever young trend" with water bottle

A cozy aesthetic from a couple where the song forever young is played and a person stands alone on the street with a water bottle. Another person assumed to be the partner enters the picture and lifts the first person who presses the water bottle. They spin and water is sprayed above in a beautiful pattern in slow motion.

4. "Just give me my money" trend

A trend where you see several people standing ready. The first one goes up to the camera and says "just give me my money" enthusiastically and everyone in the group cheers. It seems cringe, but the group plays along and keeps a straight face. The next person goes up and says the same thing. Eventually, there is one person left who goes up to the camera with high energy and says "just give me my money" and the room goes completely silent. The others have planned this to make it awkward for the last person. Don't forget to include the last persons reaction! (and don't prank someone who might get upset)

5. Getting married is scary

This is not yet a trend as far as we know, but maybe in the future? The person films themselves with the text "Getting married is scary, what if he doesn't want the house to look like this..." followed by a quick slideshow of their interior dream and what seems to be their aesthetic. Try different angles of aesthetics, such as fashion, interior design or a hobby.

6. "Kamala Harris is brat" trend

After Joe Biden announced that he will not run for re-election in the 2024 presidential election, Kamala Harris announced her campaign. At the same time as Harris announces that she will run in the election, a large-scale social media campaign with the theme "Kamala IS brat" has started. The campaign is inspired by Charli XCX's Brat album and has received a lot of attention on social media. A quote from a previous speech by Harris has also been widely spread: "She would say to us, 'I don't know what's wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?'". An audio recording with this quote has been remixed extensively on TikTok along with various famous songs together with Brat-inspired videos.

7. Boots and a slick back bun trend

User "maisieisobel_" posted a video where several people sing a catchy melody together that describes what the person in the video is wearing. The person stomps their feet with the music and sings along. Then it cuts to the next person in the group who stands in the same place and sings the same melody but with a text about their own outfit. This continues until the whole group has sung about their outfit. This got huge spread and quickly became a big trend where many users have created their own versions of this video but with their own texts to the same melody.

8. This edit makes any video feel nostalgic

With the help of a template in Capcut, you can make any video look nostalgic. The template adds the song Wait a Minute! by Willow Smith but played from what sounds like a mobile phone on low volume. A filter is then added that degrades the quality of the video and this gives a nostalgia effect that many users can relate to and love. A quick and easy video to get the chance to go viral without much effort at all.

9. "I feel like you're just here for the zipline" trend

The quote "I feel like you are only here for the zip line" from the series I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson has become a big trend on TikTok. The trend consists of a person being filmed miming to the phrase "I feel like you're just here for the zipline". The creator adds their own text on top of the video, such as "it feels like you're just here to meet my dog". Then the camera turns and shows the friend who surprised mimes the answer "What?" while the person is obviously there to meet the dog. This trend has gained wide spread and many users have created their own versions of this video.
